Transcription: The social idea of the house is collective. It defines a group of people. Thus, a house for a family of one is an opportunity to rethink the nature of rooms. The simplicity of the form, the textureless stucco walls, and the archway implied over the door combine to make this building feel much larger than it is. The Oxley house is an excellent demonstration that high quality design can be achieved with very limited means.
